Vig Zartman is an award-winning composer, one of the greatest music producer in the film and television industry.
Educated at the Yerevan State Conservatory, Armenia and then continue at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, with his stand-out signature style, Vig has composed contemporary music for Stage as well as almost all genres of pop music and since 2013 he has channelled his energy and talents into film scoring.
Mr. Zartman is a winner of the highly coveted Second and Third Prizes at the 2014 and 2016 Vienna Film Music Prizes. The Vienna Film Music Prize, Film Composer of the Year is presented by the Austrian Composer Society. One of the most distinguished composer’s societies in the world, and is the most prestigious award a composer in Austria can earn in then field of film and television.
Commensurate with Mr. Zartman’s status as top Armenian as well as top Austrian composer, he and his work have received widespread international media attention.
Numerous major media publications from around the world have written feature articles about Mr. Zartman and his acclaimed award-winning work. For which he has been awarded with numerous recognition Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, and in 2016 Vig was honored by the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia with the the Komitas Medal of Honor. The Ministry’s “Komitas” Medal is granted for disseminating Armenian arts with high-level creativity and performance in the Diaspora.
In 2007 Vig Zartman composed the music for ORFI (Austrian Central Broadcasting Corporation) TV series „Rat Mal Wer Zum Essen Kommt“, „Mobil mit Energie aus der Natur“, „Treffpunkt Medizin, „Wien - Stadt der Liebe“, „Erbe Österreich“, Vieler Herren Häuser“, Zypern - Insel zwischen zwei Kulturen“, „Kreuz und Quer“ which led to 10 albums in the ORF Music library and placements in feature films including Die Lust der Manner (Dir. Gabriele Schweiger) in 2012 and other documentaries for Kabel Suisa (Swiss) and 3Sat TV (Germany).
In 2015 he scores feature length documentary Map Of Salvation which was screened at world famous Paramount Studio Theater in Hollywood. Vig has also composed and produced successfully for international commercials, in Austria and also for international campaigns.
Vig Zartman is very well known not only in the Austrian scene, but in modern international cultural scene and his great contributions are undeniably shaping the field of contemporary music. His music and productions have been performed on globally renowned stages such as the Vienna Musikverein, Brucknerhaus Linz, Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, resulting in standing ovations and sold-out performances.
His monumental work “God Bless Armenia“ big orchestral & chorus music has been performed by 1144 musicians on one stage during celebration of 25th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia in the Karen Demirchyan Arena (over 6000 sold out seats), attended by high officials and praised by national and international media and critics.
The Work “God Bless Armenia“ witch representing Armenia at the winter olympic game 2018, ISU European Figure Skating Championship 2018 and ISU CS Nebelhorn Trophy 2017 Oberstdorf, Germany was broadcast live by Eurosport and many others.
